Tams-Witmark Music Library has been licensing musical productions since 1925. Its catalog contains many of the greatest musicals in the history of the Broadway stage including sixteen Tony Award winners for Best Musical. Tams began by licensing shows written by legendary composers/lyricists including Cole Porter, George and Ira Gershwin, and Jerome Kern.
By the 1950s and 1960s Tams-Witmark acquired rights to many of the most popular musicals of that era, including My Fair Lady, Hello, Dolly!, and Oliver! It also acquired rights to Bye Bye Birdie, You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown, and created the stage version of the legendary MGM motion picture, The Wizard of Oz. All of these shows remain among the most widely produced musicals. In the decades that followed, Tams-Witmark added Broadway musical classics to its catalog including A Chorus Line, Forty Second Street, and Crazy for You.
Currently Tams-Witmark is expanding its Library in different directions and has added many new musicals to its catalog. Tams-Witmark Music Library’s high quality and comprehensive catalog of time-honored classics and new smash hits, provides the perfect point for selecting that special show!
