Youth Summit
The first ever AACT Youth Summit will be held during the national festival of AACTFest 2015, June 23-28, in Grand Rapids, MI. Each AACT member theatre may apply to send one or two youth (12 years - high school). Space is limited, so apply for space now by completing the form below.
Youth participating in the Summit will network, brainstorm, share ideas, and learn about youth activities in theatres around the country. They will learn about AACT and provide input to how they would like to be involved in the national theatre association. They will make friends with other youth who love theatre from around the country.
The Youth Summit will meet in the Amway Grand Plaza Hotel on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday mornings (June 24-26). Registration for the national Festival (at the AACT member rate - $255) is required, but there is no additional fee to participate in the Youth Summit. Registration includes performances of 12 award winning shows, workshops, exhibits, the Awards Evening, and more. Each youth who participates in the Youth Summit will receive a participation certificate, a complimentary AACT Youth membership, and will be recognized at a festival-wide session. Each theatre must provide an adult chaperone to accompany the youth in Grand Rapids. The adult will need to register for AACTFest at the member rate or purchase a Shows/Awards package. Housing will be at the Amway Grand Plaza Hotel at the AACTFest rate of $129/night (up to 4 persons per room).
Theatres do not need to select youth before applying, but if selected, must submit names and registrations within one month of notification.
